An espresso drink is a specialty coffee drink that includes one or more shots of espresso that are “pulled” on an espresso machine (espresso maker) like those from Sanremo that uses pressurized extraction in order to force very hot water under very high pressure through a compressed (e.g., compacted, tamped) bed of roasted, ground coffee. Sometimes mistakenly spelled "expresso".
Espresso machine, grinder, portafilter, tamper
Remove your portafilter from the espresso machine’s grouphead.
Purge your grouphead thoroughly with hot water.
Distribute the coffee by drawing a finger across it in a series of alternating swipes.
Place the portafilter on a clean, flat surface and position the tamper level on top of the grounds.
